Reception
A very warm welcome to the Reception pages of our website. Here we will share with you the exciting learning opportunities that our Reception curriculum provides. We will also detail key information and clear guidance about our routines and expectations to help you to support your child in getting the most from their time in Reception. We are very much looking forward to getting to know your child and to working in partnership with you.
Meet the team
Our Reception classes are named after British wildlife, Ladybirds and Honey Bees.
Mrs Carr and Miss Dowling are the class teachers in Honeybees class. Miss Dowling teaches on a Monday and Tuesday, Mrs Carr teaches on a Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Mrs Sparrow will be providing PPA cover on Monday and Thursday afternoons.
Mrs Worsley and Mrs Snook are the class teachers in Ladybirds class. Mrs Worsley teaches on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, Mrs Snook teaches on Thursday and Friday. Mrs Sparrow will be providing PPA cover on Tuesday and Friday afternoons.
Our Learning Partners, Mrs Sparrow, Mrs Mobbs and Mrs Parry will be working in both classes this year.
As a team, we are so looking forward to working with your children and are keen to share their journey with you. You will find regular updates in our class tabs. If you wish to speak to your child’s class teacher, please do not hesitate to make an appointment via the school office or by using the year group email address.
Our expectations and organisation
- On a Monday, both classes will have the opportunity to change their reading book and their reading for pleasure books.
- PE days are Tuesday and Friday. Please ensure your child wears their PE kit to school on these days. On Monday, Wednesday and Thursday children should wear their normal school uniform - this helps to foster a sense of pride and belonging to our school family and reflects the high standards we are striving to achieve for every child. Click here for more information on school uniform.
- Children must bring their book bag with their reading book and reading record inside every day and also a named water bottle.
- Please help us with reminding children not to bring toys to school.
- Children in both classes will have the opportunity to take part in Forest School. Ladybirds (term 5) and Honeybees (term 6).
