Term 2 Week 2
Maths Week 2
Science week 2
This week we're going to be looking at the different categories that animals can be grouped into and comparing two different animals of the children's choice. Please look at the animal sorting cards with your child (no need to print them out!) along with the named categories at the top of the sorting cards document. Have a chat about which group some of the animals fall into. Your child could then use the Comparing animals sheet to choose two animals, write a short description then think of one or two things that are different and similar about them. (Again, if it's tricky to print, then you can just talk about this with your child - or they could draw a picture of each on a piece of paper and write a couple of sentences comparing them).
History week 2
This week we're looking more closely at old toys, particularly at the materials used to make them. Please have a look at the pictures on the sheet as well as the words listed below, and see if your child can match some of the materials with the toys. Could you also talk to your child about the fact that these materials are all natural, not man made, and that most modern toys are now made of plastic. There's no need to do any writing. You may have seen the home learning task on Dojo related to this, so if grandparents can get involved, so much the better!
