Supporting your child in mathematics
Regular Maths practice at home can make a big difference to children’s confidence and progress in school. Simple everyday activities such as telling the time, measuring ingredients while cooking, counting money in shops, or comparing lengths and weights help children see how Maths is used in real life. By practising these skills regularly, children develop a stronger understanding of number, measurement and time, while also building problem-solving skills that support their learning across the curriculum.
Supporting your child with their times tables
Parents and carers can play an important role in supporting children's times table learning at home by practising little and often. One effective way to help is by encouraging children to regularly use NumBots and TT Rock Stars, which provide fun and engaging opportunities to build fluency and confidence with number facts and times tables.
If you are unsure of your child's login for NumBots (for Key Stage One) or for TT Rockstars (for Key Stage Two), please contact your child's class teacher via the year group email.
