Term 3 - How did the Great Kingdom of Benin end?

Our rainforest board is getting busy! Can you spot which halves of the paintings are photographs and which half are watercolour paintings?

Some of the class finger painted five children to demonstrate the school values that we looked at last week and we focussed on the overall value of respect. The children all spoke about each value in good detail and demonstrated how thoughtful they are towards others.

Anti-bullying Week🌻 Maple class wore odd socks Monday to celebrate that we are all unique and different. As part of anti-bullying week we have also been looking at one of our 5 school values each day. On Monday we completed secret acts of kindness, on Tuesday we showed friendship to a classmate and today children used resilience to keep trying at something tricky. I was so proud of their efforts in maths and art.

Remembrance Day - we had a whole school teams assembly from Mr Cook, observed our two minutes silence and some of the children brought in poppies for our hall display board!

Green peace talk - Mr Lancaster was our guest speaker on TEAMS and taught us about the impact of deforestation on our planet. The children had so many questions!

Rainforest shoe boxes created by Maple class during half term - we had ‘tours’ of each mini rainforest on the class Ipad mirrored onto the whiteboard. They look amazing!

Our term 2 question ... Is it too late to save the rainforests?

Black History Month - Maple class looked at black women who had an impact on history among other individuals. The class discussions around race and gender were so mature. Well done Maple

Vikings! We made our names in runes and clay pendants. The blue loops show our Literacy learning journey based on the book Viking Boy.

Here We Are - celebrating our world in the first two weeks

Some of our Oliver Jeffers based art work - “The Earth might seem big but there are lots of us on here so be kind.”
