Autumn Terms 1 & 2
Performance of Julius Caesar to the whole school by Brsitol Old Vic
Anti Bullying performance by Firehorse Production
House Winners for term 2 were SMYTH. The children celebrated in non-uniform, watched a short film and had drinks and snacks for doing so well.
Grove Staff Christmas Pantomime - As an extra treat for the children, members of staff took to the stage to show off their acting skills for a performance of Aladdin.
On June 30th November three of our pupils Lacey, Beth and Abi entered a trampolining competition. They got up bright and early – 6.00 am to travel to Taunton.
Firstly they competed individually and then as a team. The three trampolinists became team winners of the Regional Schools Gymnastics Championships and this was followed by Lacey coming second in her individual category. The next round of the competition will be held in Oxford.
Their trophy is displayed in our trophy cabinet which can be found in the foyer. Brilliant work girls! We are so proud of you, good luck in Oxford we will all be cheering you on!
A special assembly
We held a special assembly on Friday 21st November.
The first half was linked to this specific week’s theme, Anti Bullying week. Two representatives from each Year Group shared their learning from this week. It was a very informative assembly and Y3/4 were particularly brave facing the whole school with their presentations.
The second half was “gift giving” (apt for this time of year!) and an opportunity for the whole school to see the new borns from our maternity leavers. Three members of staff have recently given birth and so we warmly welcomed their “little ones” and presented them with Gromits. Something to treasure for life.
A very special assembly
Festive popcorn garlands
4 children from each class had the opportunity to make popcorn garlands. Mrs Foot provided the corn and made the popcorn with her popcorn making machine. The children had great fun threading the popcorn and made some super garlands that will be displayed on the festival tree ‘Treecycled’ (more photos will be produced when the tree is decorated) and the Christmas tree in the foyer.
They also enjoyed eating it!!!
