Alternate Art Activity
To investigate warm and cool colours
These pictures are recreated by drawing half of the sun using straight lines and the other half with wavy, curved lines. Finally, colour one half of the sun using warm colours and the other side with cool colours. The, use the opposite colour scheme for the background. This creates contrast and makes the sun really pop!

Our third black artist is the Tanzanian painter EDWARD TINGATINGA (1932-1972).
Watch the video (in the LSP home learning folder) and follow the steps to help you paint an amazing Tingatinga leopard.
Or, you could choose your favourite African animal or bird and paint it in the Tingatinga style. The animals are decorative and flat looking. There are often leaves, flowers and insects in the background.
